Columbia UK, Chevrolet, Geffen UK, Immediate Need for Country Songs & more...

Over 1800 songs/acts selected for opportunities on Music Xray - and that's just since February

Mike McCready @mjmccready

I co-founded this company and I personally recruited many of the first industry professionals who joined Music Xray. Many of them are my friends. Regarding those industry professionals who signed-up themselves and who I do not know personally, I'm pretty sure they'd take my call. However, when I have a song I want to place, I submit through Music Xray just like everyone else. That's not simply because I don't want to be a hypocrite. It's because I believe Music Xray is the best way to get a song placed. Here's why:

When I submit through Music Xray, I know the person on the other end is going to listen to the song and I'm not going to have to call-in a favor to make sure that happens. I mean, it's not like those guys don't get plenty of music to listen to. Whenever I have called-in a favor in the past and sent an MP3 via email I didn't really know for sure if they listened and then I'd find myself either feeling crappy because I never heard back or feeling crappy because I would have to call back and hound them about the song – and I hate being that guy.

With Music Xray, I know that if they don't listen, our community managers are just going to have to contact them on behalf of the company and tell them we're closing their account because they are not attending to their submissions. We do that regardless of whose track they have not attended to.

So, as someone fortunate to have a lot of friends in this business, I still use Music Xray and I pay the modest fees, just like everyone else. So far, I haven't had any bites myself but that just means that so far my music's just not grabbing anyone's attention. I just have to live with that or get better by maybe getting some professional critiques and some coaching - also available on the site. Music Xray isn't perfect but it's pretty good if I do say so myself.

The bottom line is, Music Xray ensures you get listened to or your money back. There are no two ways about it.

Indie / Twee Songs and Co-writers Wanted

Ian Catt

I'm looking for songs for a new indie group with female vocals I am producing later this year. Think Belle and Sebastian, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart and the Juno soundtrack, with a hint of 6o's girl group. I will be doing some writing for this myself, so submission from lyric and topline writers with a view to collaboration are also welcome. I will endeavour to give more feedback than a simple yes or no but this depends on the volume of submissions. Thanks!
