We love a company that appreciates and promotes diverse beauty. So naturally we were excited when Estée Lauder announced that they have chosen Joan Smalls -- and her gorgeous features -- as the new spokesmodel of their cosmetics and skincare line.
Smalls is the first Estée Lauder model from Puerto Rico, but she joins a growing lineup of other international beauties including Hilary Rhoda and Carolyn Murphy from the U.S.,Elizabeth Hurley from the U.K., Constance Jablonski from France and Liu Wen from China.
Making her debut into the world of high fashion in January, Smalls was featured as the exclusive model for Ricardo Tisci's Givenchy Fall/Winter 2010 Couture Show in Paris.
Since then she has appeared on the runways in New York, Paris and Milan for designers includingMarc Jacobs, Prada, Gucci, Jil Sander, Derek Lam, Givenchy and Louis Vuitton, and in the American, French, German and Italian editions ofVogue.
Not bad for a rookie!
"We are thrilled to introduce Joan to women around the world," Jane Hertzmark Hudis, Global Brand President of Estée Lauder said in a statement. "She truly reflects Estée Lauder's modern vision of global beauty."
Expect to see the brunette beauty make her debut in the company's global advertising campaigns beginning May 2011.
