Reebok Partners with Shiekh Shoes to Produce Second Multicity Talent Search

Los Angeles, CA (September 23, 2010) - Shiekh Music, the music retail arm of leading urban contemporary footwear and apparel retail chain, Shiekh Shoes, announces its renewed partnership with Reebok to produce the premier urban music talent search, Rip The Mic Tour 2010Shiekh Music's Rip The Mic Tour presented by Reebok is a multicity talent search to discover the best, unsigned Hip Hop and R&B artists.

The tour, hosted by rapper/songwriter Taj Mahal will make stops in five cities to audition hundreds of talented artists.

Auditions will be held on October 1st at Greenspoint Mall in Houston, October 8th at Boulevard Mall in Las Vegas, October 15th at Hilltop Mall in Oakland, October 22nd at Northgate Mall in Seattle, and October 29th at Westfield Culver City Mall in Los Angeles.

 

 

The top finalists chosen by judges Ghost Kasen (music producer), Saleemah E. Knight (choreographer), radio station djs/personalities from 97.9 The Box (Houston), Hot 97.5 (Las Vegas), 106 KMEL (Oakland), Power 106 (Los Angeles), and Universal Music Group label reps will advance to the grand finale in Burbank, CA for the chance to compete and win the grand prize on November 12th. Two winners (one R&B and one Hip Hop) will win a marketing deal with Reebok, sponsorship and performance opportunities powered by Shiekh Music, artist and music promotions by Yo! Promotions, and more.

Last year's winners, Nino Magzoon (Hip Hop category) and A.D. (R&B category), went on to become the regional face of Reebok's Fuze 1.0 footwear collection and have appeared in numerous national and regional print and in-store advertising campaigns. In addition, they've toured performing at Shiekh Music concerts and events. Currently finishing their EP with singles set to drop in October, Nino Magzoon and A.D. have been in the studio with producers including Ghost Kasen (Ja Rule, Ashanti, MTV's Making The Band), Shomari "Shonuff" Wilson (Ne-Yo), Bay Area power house Cozmo and Belgium superstar producers, The Bionix.

"Rip The Mic is a vehicle to help unsigned artists gain exposure and get their music out to the people," says Creator and Executive Producer, Dae Bogan. "Even if they don't win, the experience and the connections they make are beyond valuable. Our 2009 season was fun and exciting; we learned a lot about the potential of RTM and are very happy with the winners. This season," he continues, "we've turned it up a notch. We've added more cities, the prize is bigger and the competition will be tougher. I'm looking forward to a crazy eight week tour with thousands of talented artists."
